Dasha, born in 1997, was a Russian DJ and producer who had built a quietly devoted following across two distinct musical identities. As DashAlien, she crafted forest and twilight psytrance through Zürich-based collective and label Luminara Labs. As Dazura, she explored the heavier shadows of dark psychedelic trance, releasing music through Tartara Records. The two aliases reflected different facets of the same creative vision – one luminous and organic, the other deep and foreboding.
Her death was confirmed by those close to her in recent days, with tributes beginning to emerge across Instagram and Facebook. A post bearing the words “RIP DashAlien (Dazura) 🕊️ Forever in the music” has circulated in the community, and a video shared to social media has been described as capturing “the last set in life” – referring to her performance at Back in the Mountains, a festival held in Parvati Valley, Kasol.
Cause of death remains unknown. No official statement has been released by her family or labels at the time of writing. Speculation circulating within online psytrance communities, suggests that a drug or sleeping aid may have been involved, though this has not been confirmed by any official source and should be treated as unverified rumour at this stage.
Her most recent studio release as DashAlien – Subversive Blackout, produced under Luminara Labs and released in October 2025 – gives little indication of what was to come, described by the label as part of their mission to illuminate “the pathways of inner space through the transformative power of psychedelic trance.”
