Electric Universe is a renowned German psychedelic trance project founded in 1991 in Hamburg by Boris Blenn and Michael Dressler. The project rapidly gained prominence in the psytrance world following the release of their EP “Solar Energy” in 1994, which played a pivotal role in elevating Spirit Zone Recordings as a leading label in the psychedelic trance realm.
The inspiration for their inception came from the Voov Experience. Their musical journey saw the inclusion of guitarist Roland Wedig in 1999, who infused electric guitar elements into their sound, with tracks like ‘Meteor’ on the ‘Blue Planet’ album receiving notable acclaim.
In addition to Electric Universe, Boris Blenn has been active in various side projects, such as Jupiter 8000, Galaxy, and Gabon3, the latter releasing its debut album “Source Of Silence” in Autumn 2003. Over the years, Electric Universe has showcased collaborations with leading artists like DJ Sangeet, S.U.N. Project, GMS, Olli Wisdom of Space Tribe, and more.
Boris Blenn’s journey as Electric Universe spans over two decades, during which he evolved his sound to what he describes as Uplifting Energetic Psychedelic Trance. His enthusiasm for the genre has also seen him collaborate with major labels like Sacred Technology, TIP Records, Nano, and Dacru, with over 150,000 records sold.
