Psy-Fi Festival, one of Europe’s most iconic psychedelic music gatherings, continues to find itself surrounded by uncertainty. After years of turbulence—including cancellations in 2020, 2021, 2022, and a last-minute cancellation in 2024—the festival’s organizers announced earlier this year that Psy-Fi would make a fresh start in Sarow, Germany for its 2025 edition.
That announcement, welcomed by longtime attendees and artists alike, came with the reassurance that local authorities in Sarow were supportive of the event. The move was seen as a hopeful turning point for a festival that has faced increasing regulatory pressure and logistical hurdles in its former Dutch home.
However, fans and followers were left puzzled when, on 16 April 2025, eagle-eyed members of the community noticed a quiet update to the Psy-Fi website’s FAQ section. The festival’s location was changed from Sarow to Stölln, Gollenberg—a site known to host the long-running Antaris Project festival.
At the time of writing, no official statement has been made by Psy-Fi Festival organizers regarding this apparent change in venue. Social media channels remain silent on the matter, and the main landing pages of the website still refer to Sarow in some places, further fuelling confusion among would-be attendees.
The apparent relocation raises questions not just about logistics but also about transparency. While Stölln is a beloved location for open-air events and has the infrastructure to support gatherings of Psy-Fi’s size, the lack of communication is drawing concern from fans who have followed the festival through its rocky past few years.
The move from the Netherlands to Germany was prompted by a string of permit issues, most notably in 2022 when the municipality of Leeuwarden denied event approval over environmental and noise concerns. The subsequent 2024 edition, intended to be a revival, was abruptly cancelled just weeks before the event was set to take place, with little clarity provided to ticket holders.
