How much CBD oil to take

There are a number of important factors to consider when taking CBD oil.

For instance, your body weight, what condition you are trying to treat, the concentration of CBD in the product you’re taking (gummy, drops, pill, etc) and how your body chemistry reacts to CBD in general.

It might seem like an overwhelming amount of information to consider, but in general it’s usually good to start off with as small of a dose as possible. Also, it’s important to consult a doctor or health practitioner to understand the risks and what works best for you.

A small dose of CBD oil is considered to be around 10 – 15 mg per day. You can start increasing the amount by 5 mg every week. If you’ve got quite a bit of pain, you might want to start on a higher dose per day and work your way up until you find the pain tolerable.

In South Africa, the government has set a limit of 20mg of CBD as a daily dose, so you won’t find any products that will recommend you take more.

Calculate your CBD dosage

There are a variety of CBD oil products available including capsules, gummies, tinctures and more. The packaging should provide sufficient information on how much CBD there is in the entire bottle / packet / container and how much CBD there is per dose.

Can you take too much CBD oil?

High doses of CBD Oil (up to 1,500 mg per day) have been deemed safe in studies. It’s impossible to take a fatal dose. However, it’s important to note there might be side effects as well as reactions with other medications.
