Brazilian progressive psychedelic trance artist 4i20, known off-stage as Henrique Fernandes, has died. A message posted to his social media accounts on 24 June confirmed his passing, though no official cause of death has been released.
According to someone close to the artist, Fernandes had recently been admitted to hospital with complications related to pneumonia. No further details have been made public at this stage.
Based in Brazil, 4i20 was a well-respected figure in the international music scene. He was the founder of Alien Records, a label that became known for its high-energy progressive sound with releases from Shanti People, Aura Vortex, Blazy, Sighter and more. He performed at major festivals around the world, including Ozora (Hungary), Universo Paralello (Brazil) and events across Europe, Australia, and South Africa.
Both on the dance floor and in the industry, 4i20 was liked by many for his distinctive style and consistent output. Since the announcement of his death, artists from across the global psychedelic scene have shared messages of grief and respect.
