Primavera Sound Porto is the Portuguese sister edition of Barcelona’s iconic Primavera Sound, running since 2012, always the week after the Barcelona edition. It takes over Parque da Cidade – Porto’s largest urban park, an 80-hectare green space stretching along the Atlantic coast toward Matosinhos beach – where natural amphitheaters of pine and open field host multiple stages. Known for a discerning, genre-spanning lineup across indie, alternative, electronic, and hip-hop, it draws a strongly international crowd (roughly a third from abroad) in a more relaxed, spacious setting than many festivals, with sets running from afternoon into the early hours and no on-site camping.
