OUT.FEST is Portugal’s leading experimental and exploratory music festival, running annually in Barreiro since 2004. Rather than using a single stage, it stages performances across a rotating set of unconventional local venues – churches, industrial museums, community halls, gardens — turning the whole town into a discovery trail. The programming spans free jazz, noise, abstract electronics, and contemporary classical, drawing an international crowd of critics and adventurous listeners. It’s earned the EFFE “Europe for Festivals” label and coverage from The Wire and The Quietus.
