NEOPOP is Portugal’s premier electronic music festival, held annually in Viana do Castelo, a coastal city in the northwest of the country. The festival takes place at the historic 16th-century Forte de Santiago da Barra, transforming it into a setting for electronic music. It was founded in 2005 by José Barreiro and Filipe Cruz and is widely considered one of Portugal’s most prominent and influential electronic music events, focusing primarily on techno, house, and experimental electronic genres.
