The statement accuses Israel of committing genocide in Gaza and calls for an end to what it describes as a 78-year occupation and apartheid. It urges members of the psytrance scene to break their “complicity” by publicly supporting the Palestinian cause.
While the letter briefly condemns the October 7 massacre at the Nova Festival, where over 360 mostly young attendees were murdered by Hamas, critics say it minimizes Israeli suffering and frames the conflict in a dangerously one-sided way.
Supporters argue it’s a necessary show of solidarity with Palestinians, but others see it as a politicized misrepresentation that risks deepening divides in a scene known for its message of unity and peace.
As of writing, the petition currently has 1389 signatures, including well-known psytrance figures such as:
- Ankur Seres – Founder of Freqs of Nature Festival (Germany), a psychedelic music and arts event.
- Colin Bennun – UK-based producer, member of the psytrance group OOOD (Out of Our Depth).
- DJ Basilisk – Canadian DJ and founder of Ektoplazm, a free netlabel for psychedelic music.
- DJ Ganeisha – Portuguese psytrance DJ affiliated with Sahman Records.
- Federico Petrei – Founder of Deltaprocess, a VJ and visual production crew in the psytrance scene.
- Gianluca Iarlori – Italian photographer associated with 7 Chakras Festival in Italy.
- Jack Allsopp – Psytrance artist known as Act One, on Bom Shanka Music (UK).
- Jawad Petit – Organizer of Ethereal Decibel Festival (France), a psychedelic trance festival.
- Jennifer Yuill – Organizer of PsySailing Cape Town
- Johnny Carson – Psytrance artist known as Cronyx, signed to Bom Shanka Music.
- Juarez Achkar Petrillo – Brazilian founder and organizer of Universo Paralello Festival.
- Kris Mosher – Canadian producer known as Smoke Sign, signed to Zenon Records.
- Kliment Dichev – Bulgarian producer signed to Zenon Records.
- Leonardo Garcia – UK-based organizer affiliated with Boogie Network psychedelic events.
- Matt Black – British DJ and one half of electronic act Coldcut.
- Miss Tekix – French DJ affiliated with Hadra Festival, one of France’s major psytrance events.
- Nicola Grigatti – Italian producer performing as HypoGeo, on Zenon Records.
- Nicolas Marcato – Italian Psytrance artist known for his projects Slide and Loom.
- Patricio Tron – Mexican psytrance producer contributing to Latin America’s psychedelic scene.
- Rahul Albuquerque – Co-founder of Psynon Records, a psychedelic trance label based in the UK.
- Raffael Willi – Swiss artist performing as Jumpstreet, signed to Looney Moon Records.
- Richie Asimilon – UK-based producer, one half of the duo Psymmetrix.
- Sarah Guillou – Production manager for Master of Puppets Festival in Czech Republic.
