We might already be heading into September but as any Cape Toanian will know that means the warmer months are around the corner. Our event calendar really starts to fill up with outdoor festivals and nightlife events around the city. We’ve put together some of our favourite upcoming events in Cape Town that we’ll be at (with a few more to add!).

Olmeca Tequila presents Psymedia vs MyCityByNight Rematch

It’s been three years since we hosted a PSYMCBN event and next month we return for one night at District in Harrington Street. Four carefully selected versus sets on a Funktion One soundrig with psychedelic decor, just what we need before the outdoor season starts! Line up includes an all local electronic line up with Bambeano vs Dave Irish, Geometric Flux vs iTone, DJ Mark vs Dynamic Range and Deliriant vs Rubix Qube.

Alien Safari Sprung 2017

When: 09 September – 10 September 2017

For many years Alien Safari Sprung has marked the calendar as the start of the outdoor season. More recently, outdoor parties have occurred year end round, but Sprung takes place at the start of September when things start to warm up! Line up includes Aardvarkk, Audiotec, Egorythmia, Labirinto, Broken Toy and more.

Into the Wild: Moon Child

When: 16th September 2017

Into The Wild are quietly growing with every event and a crowd of loyal fans. Each event has featured a mixture of progressive & techno music with September’s event being no different featuring international Omiki alongside Broken Toy, Geometric Flux, Fogshow and more.

Earthdance Cape Town 2017

Earthdance celebrates 21 years in 2017 with the theme of re-evolution. This year Earthdance Cape Town will be run under a new production team and we’re excited to see what they have planned! The highlight of the Earthdance Global Peace Party is a synchronized link-up at 2am where every Earthdance around the world links up for Peace. So far Space Cat (HOMmega) has been announced as the international guest.

Organik Gaian Dream 2017

When: 13th – 16th October 2017

Another one of our personal favourites, Organik, is celebrating their tenth birthday this year. More recently their passion has led to well attended events and we expect their anniversary to be no different. Special guests this year include GMS, Pixel and 3 of Life (GMS + Pixel). Happy birthday, Organik!

Jungala Festival 2017

When: 10th – 12th November 2017

The annual festival will take place in November for the first time since changing from their regular date in April. Jungala is a three day event showcasing a large array of well known and up and coming artists. To be held at the beautiful Jungala venue, nestled in amongst the trees on our island next to the Berg river. With the additional time to organise, we have no doubt this years edition will be awesome.

Vortex Open Source 2017

When: 7th – 11th December 2017

The 4 night, 5 day festival takes place in the mystical land known as the Circle of Dreams, roughly 2 hours from Cape Town in Riviersonderend. Expect some long journey sets from old school local and international legends amongst a very natural, forest setting. One of the oldest parties in Cape Town, this is definitely worth attending for a true 5 day psychedelic experience.

Love & Light Day Party

One of the pioneers of the ‘day time’ parties in Cape Town, Love & Light features the sounds of techno blending into progressive psytrance, with LED backdrops and gorgeous venues. This is a great way to spend a summer day in December during the festive times!

Rezonance NYE Festival

When: 30th December – 02nd January (tbc)

Arguably the most popular New Years Eve Festival in South Africa, with thousands of attendees from across the globe, Rezonance boasts numerous dance floors, with the main Prizm dance floor delivering a heavy dose of psychedelic trance. Last year featured a new venue further from town that worked out great. Nothing has been confirmed for this year yet, but we couldn’t leave RezFest off the list!
