DJI Mavic Mini – Best Budget Travel Drone
This drone is definitely the best for beginners and for travel. The Mavic Mini weighs sub-250g and folds up into a tiny package – which makes it easy to pack in your backpack.
While it doesn’t support 4k video (1080p at 60fps), the Mavic Mini captures stills at the full 12MP resolution and has a fly time over 30 minutes, which is decent for a travel drone of this size.
DJI Mavic 2 Pro – Best Travel Drone
If you can afford the extra space in your backpack or want 4k video, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro is worth the upgrade and comes in at around 900 grams.
DJI have packed in a 20MP Hasselblad L1D-20c gimbal camera that takes gorgeous stills and can also shoot 10-bit 4k video. It works wonders in low-light and is the best travel done we have personally used.
While this is a consumer drone, it certainly has some professional features, which is why we believe the DJI Mavic 2 Pro is the best travel drone available.
However, before making the investment, it’s important to note that the DJI Mavic 3 is likely to be released later this year, and will have many technical improvements over the DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
