Best DJ Speakers

Table of Contents

When festivals stopped, we went on the hunt for the best DJ speakers available at the moment. In general, you can pretty much use anything, however you’ll want a quality set of speakers that you can really crank at high volumes – either at home, at small events or other gatherings.

As a DJ, a powered speaker will work best, since you won’t require an external power source such as an amplifier. This will allow you to move the speaker without limitations. Simple plug in your equipment and you’re good to go!

QSC K12.2 Speaker – Best DJ Speaker

Best DJ Speaker
The QSC K12.2 is the best DJ speaker we have tried and tested.

The QSC K12.2 is the best DJ speaker on the market at the moment, after we have personally be testing them for several months now. They work great indoors and even outdoors around the pool for small gatherings.

For a 12-inch speaker, the sound is superb and there’s a healthy amount of bass without the need for using a separate subfwoofer. Pretty much all forms of electronic music sound great on this!

There’s a bunch of digital presets that provide sufficient range and will allow you to tweak things to your liking. Since this is a single speaker, you can pretty much take it wherever you want. The only downside is that there’s no Bluetooth connectivity – which some might want.

Bose F1 Model 812 Flexible Array Loudspeaker

Bose is a popular brand primarily in the high-end market. However, the Bose F1 is definitely an interesting speaker that stands out from their usual range. The Bose F1 Model 812 Flexible Array Loudspeaker is incredibly loud and can be configured in a number of shapes.

From our experience, the sound is incredibly clear and well balanced at every level. We used them inside a bedroom at low levels and took them out in the day to crank them up without any issues.

This is pretty much everything you need as a DJ in terms of a speaker and is definitely one of the best DJ speakers available if you can afford it.

JBL Professional EON610

The JBL Professional EON610 is a popular choice among musicians and DJs as its a practical 10-inch size and is not too heavy on the wallet.

It’s got solid construction which means you don’t have to worry about bumping it around. While this unit states Bluetooth connectivity, don’t be fooled as its just to use the JBL app (which controls things like volume).

For the price, this active speaker is hard to be and is worth checking out. The sound and build quality is great and you won’t be disappointed.

Yamaha DXR8 Powered Speaker

The Yamaha DXR8 have been praised due to their sound quality and portability. At high volumes, they still manage to maintain crisp sound, especially for an 8-inch speaker.

If you’re a mobile DJ or musician that works at small events – you can’t go wrong with purchasing a Yamaha DXR8 powered speaker.

If you need something a bigger, the DXR range includes the DXR10, DXR12 and DXR15 which all come highly recommended by live audio enthusiasts.

Yamaha DBR10 700-Watt Powered Speaker

This two-way, 1-inch speaker has a plastic exterior which makes it portable, but also includes quality internals such as a 700W Class-D amplification. It can deliver a maximum SPL of 129dB which will certainly blast a few neighbors away. For a small unit at roughly 10.5kg, this really will blow you away. It’s lacking a bit on the low-end, but we still love these speakers for DJ use.
